About DOSGAME.AT

DOSGAME.AT is a volunteer project dedicated to preserving, studying, and keeping classic DOS and Windows games usable. We document old technology, build compatibility fixes, publish loaders, and keep knowledge alive that would otherwise be easy to lose.

Why we do it

For the love of old PC history

We are enthusiasts. Old games matter to us not only as nostalgia, but as technical artifacts: copy protection, installers, sound setups, loaders, old operating systems, broken routines, and all the small quirks that shaped PC gaming of that era.

This work happens in our spare time. It includes research, debugging, tests on real and emulated hardware, documentation, video work, and many small corrections that hopefully help an old game start cleanly again.

A fair framework

Original games are required

Our loaders, fixes, and notes are intended for users who legally own the original game in question. DOSGAME.AT is not a substitute for owning original disks, manuals, downloads, or licenses.

We do not provide complete commercial games and understand our work as preservation, technical documentation, and compatibility help. Please use our releases responsibly and only within the scope of your own rights.

Support

Keyfiles in the shop

If you want to support our work, you can buy keyfiles through the shop. These keyfiles can remove the nag screen in our loaders. This is intended as voluntary support and is not required.

The core idea remains the same: preserving old games, explaining technical details, and building tools that help owners of original games. A keyfile is a friendly way to support time, server costs, and further research.
