About the game

Prehistorik 2 is one of the more charming action platformers from the classic DOS era, combining fast-paced jumping with a playful prehistoric setting. Games like this depend on timing, precision, and momentum, and they can become demanding quickly once energy runs low or a single mistake costs a life. Our release is meant for owners of the original game or the original game files who want to revisit the classic in a more relaxed way.

For our GOG +2 trainer, we removed two of the main obstacles: unlimited lives and unlimited energy. That makes it easier to practice tricky jumps, handle enemy contact, and work through difficult sections without constant restarts, or simply enjoy the game with less pressure. The trainer has been prepared and tested for the GOG offline installer; it includes PRE2TRN.COM and the adjusted DOSBox configuration for normal launch through the usual GOG launcher. If you use our release, we recommend backing up the existing DOSBox config first so everything can be restored cleanly if needed.

Prehistorik 2 comes from Titus and keeps its identity as a brisk prehistoric action platformer: simple goals, punchy pacing, and that early-DOS cartoon energy that made a lot of magazine writers sit up and grin. It is less about elaborate systems than about timing, momentum, and the satisfaction of finally nailing a stubborn stretch of terrain. That straightforward design is exactly why it stuck around in old PC coverage; the game knows what it is and does not waste time apologizing for it. The visuals and animation give it a little extra personality, even when the gameplay asks for blunt persistence more than finesse. There is a certain elegance in that rough-edged approach. Titus may not have been aiming for subtlety here, but it left behind a game with enough shape to be remembered.

Our DOSGAME.AT release takes the edge off the parts that tend to interrupt the flow: the +2 trainer makes it easier to stay in the adventure instead of repeating the same section over and over. For owners of the original, that is a useful companion to the game rather than a replacement for it. The adjusted DOSBox setup and keep things tidy on the modern side while preserving the feel of the classic release.
