About the game

The Gold of the Aztecs is a classic DOS-era jump’n’run that is mainly interesting today for its original protection check and its unmistakable old-school character. Our release is aimed at players who want to revisit the game from the original files or an existing installation and prefer a clean, practical way to get it running again.

Our trainer bypasses the copy-protection or protection check of the supported original version and enables unlimited lives. We also include GOLD.COM, a small loader that works around a DOSBox issue with the EXE and makes it easier to start the correct game version. Simply place TRAIN.COM and GOLD.COM in your installation directory and launch the game through TRAIN.COM. As always, our release is meant for people who own the original game or the original files.

The Gold of the Aztecs wastes no time on polite introductions: one jump, one screen later, and it is already clear that timing matters more here than wandering around at leisure. According to period databases and older write-ups, the DOS game comes from U.S. Gold and Kinetica Software, and it sits between action and jump-and-run design, with a distinctly screen-by-screen structure rather than free-form exploration. That mix of pressure, compact mechanics, and a slightly archaeological adventure attitude gives it its appeal — nothing about it tries to look modern, and that is exactly the point. Anyone who enjoys old PC action gets an honest relic from an era when characters still had to make their case through movement and tight resources.
