Cobra Mission: Panic in Cobra City has that odd blend of detective grime, RPG structure, and anime excess that looked far more curious in 1992 than it does now. MegaTech Software went with top-down exploration and turn-based combat, then wrapped it in a presentation that keeps wobbling between hard-boiled crime drama and very direct adult material. That mix drew attention at the time, but it also left reviewers and players with more than a few raised eyebrows. What still stands out is how seriously it plays the crime angle while constantly edging toward the next over-the-top turn.
