The DOS version of The Games: Summer Challenge was released in 1992 and was developed by MindSpan and published by Accolade.
The Games: Summer Challenge and The Games: Winter Challenge are among Accolade’s well-known sports compilations, mixing Olympic-style events with the unmistakable DOS character of their era. Our release is aimed at players who want to start the supported original files cleanly again without dealing with the old protection prompts. We support the documented original versions as well as the GOG release Olympic Challenge, provided the proper installation is in place.
Our universal loader addresses the games’ historical hurdle directly: the codewheel and manual protection check. We do more than skip the visible question; we prepare the internal protection values so later validation checks still receive consistent data. We also apply the required debugger-check correction and normalize known pre-modified executables from the GOG version before our protection handling takes over.
