Wizardry VI - Bane of the Cosmic Forge

Wizardry VI: Bane of the Cosmic Forge is one of Sir-Tech’s classic DOS role-playing games, known for demanding party management, long dungeon runs, and a ruleset that rewards patience. With releases that exist in several original variants, getting the game to start correctly on modern setups can be as important as the game itself. Our release is aimed at owners of the original game or the original game files who want a convenient DOS or DOSBox setup while keeping the historical protection checks handled in a clean way.

To do that, we combine a loader, trainer, save game editor, and automapper in one package. The loader detects documented original versions, handles recognized release revisions, and deliberately rejects unknown or modified EXE/overlay files instead of applying unsafe offsets. From the menu, we can disable protection, edit save games, use the in-game automapper, and enable gameplay fixes. These include the divide overflow fix, the level 7 spell fix, dynamic carrying capacity adjustment, and CPU-independent door timing. For GOG installations, we also provide a matching start configuration that hooks in LOAD.COM directly without changing the rest of the original files unnecessarily.
