Metersteiner Beer Manager

Metersteiner Beer Manager is one of those DOS management games that focus on straightforward brewery planning and the practical limits of early shareware releases. We take control of a brewery, keep an eye on the business side, and at the same time work around the registration and restriction screens that were part of the original distribution. Our release is meant for players who own the original game or the original files and want to make it usable again on modern setups. Our universal loader removes the original five-year limit together with the recurring registration and advertising screens. If we want, we can also unlock the time restriction entirely and keep running the brewery beyond the extended period. The release additionally includes an integrated savegame editor that lets us change the current money balance in compatible BMSG*.BMD saves. The loader automatically detects the supported original versions and works with both the classic DATA folder layout and the flat directory release. Using it is simple: copy LOAD.COM into the game directory and run it. The original BMANAGER.BAT is no longer needed, because the loader handles the startup of BMANAGER.EXE itself and restores the temporarily patched bytes after a normal exit.

B.A.T. II - The Koshan Conspiracy

B.A.T. II - The Koshan Conspiracy is one of the more ambitious DOS adventure/RPG hybrids of its era, combining cyberpunk atmosphere, role-playing values and classic exploration. Our release is aimed at owners of the original game or the original game files who want a supported version that is easier to run and use, while keeping the actual gameplay intact. The focus of our Legacy Protection Fix / Save Game Editor is practical support for the known original releases. We bypass the protection check for the supported floppy versions, while CD releases are detected automatically and that option is hidden when it is not needed. We also include a universal savegame editor that lets us adjust credits as well as strength, intelligence, vitality, perception, reflexes and charisma. The tool automatically identifies the correct save format and offsets, and it restores the character’s physical condition whenever values are changed so the game’s internal stat handling does not immediately undo the edits. On the German floppy version, we also add two small temporary interface tweaks.

Elvira 2: The Jaws of Cerberus - Save Editor

Elvira 2: The Jaws of Cerberus is one of the better-known DOS adventure hybrids of its era, combining a dark fantasy setting with role-playing elements. Our release is aimed at anyone who wants to revisit the original game today without getting stuck at the old protection check. The supported floppy releases include several language versions, and the English GOG/Steam version should also work. That keeps access straightforward while preserving the classic feel of the game. The core of our release is the save game editor, which gives us a practical way to adjust the character’s primary and secondary stats. That makes it easier to fine-tune a save rather than rebuilding everything through regular play. In addition, our trainer bypasses the copy-protection or protection check of the supported original version. Please keep a backup of your savegames before making changes; our release is intended for owners of the original game or the original game files. Just place TRAIN.COM in the installation directory and start the game through it.
