Flashback: The Quest for Identity is one of the defining action-adventure classics of the DOS era, combining precise controls with a bleak sci-fi atmosphere. For many fans, the floppy releases are the most familiar way to experience the game, preserving the original PC feel and the character of the era especially well.
With our release, we make those supported original versions easy to launch again. The loader bypasses the protection check in the English, German, French, and Italian floppy versions and detects the documented originals automatically. That removes the startup hurdle without altering the game itself.
Our release is intended for owners of the original game or the original game files. If you already have a matching version, you can place LOAD.COM in the game directory and start the game through it, then toggle the protection disable option with F1.
